Methi Chicken or chicken curry with fenugreek leaves is a hearty spicy Chicken Curry with a nice flavor of fresh fenugreek leaves coming through in every bite. Fenugreek has lot of health benefits.
If you are a person who do not like to eat Fenugreek in sabji form then this is a good recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- Chicken 500 grms cut into medium/ small size
- 1 inch Ginger, julienne
- 2-3 Garlic Cloves, chopped
- 2-3 Green Chilli, chopped
- 1 cup Curd, beaten
- ½ cup Onion Paste ( 1 medium size onion )
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- ¼ tsp Asafoetida / hing
- 1 Tbsp Coriander Powder
- Salt To Taste
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 cups Fenugreek Leaves
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
METHOD
- In a mixing bowl, add chicken, curd, onion paste, asafoetida, coriander powder, salt to taste, black pepper powder, fenugreek leaves mix everything well and keep it aside.
- In a large pan, add oil and ghee
- once its hot add cumin seeds & let it splutter.
- Add ginger, garlic, green chilli and saute well.
- Transfer the marinade chicken into the pan and mix well.
- Cover it with the lid and cook on medium flame till the chicken is tender.
- Add few fenugreek leaves and serve hot .
