Sunday Funday with Spicy Mutton Curry

Hope weekend has been treating you well ! :) 
Sunday mornings are perfect for late hour breakfasts .... and then the long pending question - What to cook for Lunch ?  
Made a list of options and finally after striking one after the other, we decided on making a real spicy mutton curry  
Here is my recipe
Spicy Mutton Curry :
  • Mutton (1kg)
  • Onion(3nos large)
  • Tomato(3nos)
  • Ginger (1large)
  • Garlic pods(6 to 7)
  • Coriander powder (3tsp)
  • Green chilly (3 to 4)
  • Chilly powder(-11/2 tsp)
  • Turmeric powder ( 1/2tsp)
  • Pepper powder (1 tsp )
  • Fennel(1tsp)
  • Cloves (1to2sticks)
  • Cardamom(1)
  • Cinnamon(1to2)
  • Curry leafs (4to5leaves)
  • Coriander leafs(4to5leaves)
  • Coconut milk ( optional )
  • Salt as required 
  • Oil as required.

Method:


For marination :

Grind one onion ginger garlic green chilly. Then to that add coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt
Grind well into a smooth paste.
  • Wash mutton well and cut into small pieces.
  • Marinate the mutton with the mix and keep in the refregirator ( not in the freezer ) for 15 to 20min
  • Heat oil in the cooker
  • To that add the tomato and sauté it for 5 min
  •  To that add onion and sauté it for 3 min then,
  • Add the marinated mutton and stir it properly close the lid and allow it to cook for five min.
  • Meanwhile,
  • Grind the garam masalas( cardamom,clove,cinnamon) along with coriander leafs,curry leafs, fennel
  • And keep aside .
  • Open then lid and stirr the gravy and to this add the garam masala mixture.
  • Mix well
  • Close the cooker put the pressure lower the flame and let it cook for 20 to 25 min( 4 to 5 whistles).
  • Once it is cooked, add thick coconut milk  and cook for 2 min and off the burner


Mutton curry is ready ! 
Serve hot with rice, Pathiri or Roti.....
