This is one of the Quick & Easy recipe I must say and my last minute cooking idea,when the clock struck at 12.30pm!!!!

Ingredients
- Carrot : grated ( 1 large or 2 small ones)
- WHOLE SPICES : Cardamon : 2 nos Cinnamon: 1 small stick Cloves 2 nos Bay leafs
- Ghee 1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder : 1/2 tsp ( optional )
- Salt to tast
- Jeera rice/ Pulao Rice / Basmati rice
Method:
- Wash the rice and drain water and keep aside
- In a pressure cooker add ghee
- Once it hot add in the whole spices and sauté till the aroma gets released
- Now add in carrot and sauté for 1 to 2 mins
- Add washed and soaked rice to this and mix well
- Add garam masala powder ( optional ), salt and suffient water to this and cover and cook ( see notes )
- 1 cup rice : 1.5 cups water for jeera rice ( once the vapour comes place the whistle and cook on low flame for 5 mins and turn off the stove )
- 1 cup rice : 2 cups water for basmati rice and pulav rice ( cook on high flame foe 2 whistles )
- Once its turned off open the cooker after 15 mins.
You can serve this rice with raita & pickle or any veg or non veg curries...
Notes:
Measurements for rice
For 1 glass rice take 11/2 glass water for jeera rice
Take the same glass or cup for measuring both rice and water.
Do not wait till the whistle comes if so rice will be bit overcooked...
