CHEMEEN THORAN

Kerala has lot of seafood varieties , among them prawns is very common that too with coconut
 Prawns thoran is semi fried prawns in shredded coconut
This is a side dish it goes really well with rice 

INGREDIENTS
  • FOR MARINATION: MARINATE PRAWNS WITH RED CHILI POWDER TURMERIC AND SALT FOR 20 MINS.
  • Prawns 300 grams washed cleaned and deveined
  • Shredded coconut  1/4 cup   
  • Onions 1 small chopped
  • Green chilies 2 nos finely chopped
  • Ginger and Garlic 1 tsp chopped
  • Pepper 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves handful
  • Coconut oil 1 tbsp
METHOD 
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add chopped onions . ginger , garlic and green chilies and saute till raw smell goes
  • To that add prawns and cook for 3 to 4 mins
  • Now add the masala and cook on low flame till its done
  • Finally add the coconut , mix well and roast everything on low flame for 5 mins
  • Finally garnish with curry leaves 
  • Serve hot
